About Me

My name is Gabriel Bruce. I own a car repair shop in Virginia and have been working on cars for as long as I can remember.

Honestly I’m not sure what to put on one of these pages. I’m a mechanic, not a blogger. But people keep asking me about the work I do and the cars I mess around with on my own time, so I figured I’d just put something up here.

I grew up in Virginia. My dad always had something in the driveway he was working on and I just kind of fell into it as a kid. By the time I was a teenager I was doing basic work on my own. After high school I went straight into it full time, worked at a couple different shops over the years, and eventually opened my own place. That’s pretty much the whole story.

The shop keeps me busy. We do all kinds of work — oil changes, brakes, engines, diagnostics, whatever comes through the door. I’ve got a good group of regular customers at this point which I’m grateful for. Word of mouth goes a long way in this business. You treat people fairly and do the job right and they come back. Pretty simple.

When I’m not at the shop I’m usually at home in the garage working on my own stuff. I’ve got a couple of personal projects going at any given time. Nothing fancy, I just enjoy it. Always have.

This blog is really just a place for me to write about cars. Stuff I’m working on, things I’ve learned, maybe some tips here and there. I don’t really know how often I’ll post or exactly what direction it’ll go. We’ll see.

If you’ve got questions or you’re local and need some work done, feel free to get in touch.
